haha i like that analogy! im hurting though. my entire "reality"- the only reality ive EVER known is crumbling. men who i regarded as "heros" are no longer so. this is the only "truth" ive ever known. life is going to get interesting really quick here i have a feeling

thanks for responding oppostate! yes, the part about malawi-particularly the rape of sisters really really hurt me deeply, having a wife of my own. its almost an unbearable thought. and for what?! a stupid party card. yes i'll try to post my thoughts as i go thru. its kind of funny im here at this point now, when just a few months ago i was an elder giving talks and etc :(

we are in the middle of our awakening and im on page page 192 of COC and im filled with a mix of emotions. its a roller-coaster of emotions! how could they do this to my people? have i really been lied to all this time? ugghhh....idk i guess i need some encouragement right now...anyone else went thru this?

A shaved Head

my wife complained along time that i let my hair grow to long (i don't belive in this anyway) but to make peach i asked her to buzz my hair 4 months ago.... shorter... shorter... let me shave the rest.. it' been shaved since then and i like the yul brynner look.. i feel like pharoah...j.k. at the kh few have questioned... i mean im hardly breaking 1 corinthians lol.

as for wordly styles this style is almost what a certian governing body member has.... and they know it... they hate sanderson!.

now i have since experiance the sun on my head in summer...feels good... my wife liking it now.... .

i had a part on assembly few years back. i have my head totally shaved. district overseer pulled me aside, and said i cant have my head shaved and be on platform because other young men would see it and say im making a rebellous statement. i let it grow in for a while, but then went back to shaving it completely. control freaks

Did the GB ever receive new light without the passage of time forcing it upon them?

1914 did not bring the end they were hoping for so new light shone down from above and corrected their understanding.. 1925 also led to unfulfilled expectations and so new light was bestowed.. .

(i could go through all the dates and expectations... but i won't.).

what if the new light about 1914 being the year that christ returned was provided before 1914?

i like what openmind said about the ressurrection on the sodomites. in fact, many years ago when i was a MS i had bible highlights. brought this out from insight book- i think it was the insight- that they would possibly have a resurrection. elder tells me when i get down that i had to make a public retraction because they had changed that info. so next week i happened to do announcements. i went ahead and humbly made the retraction.. .i get down from stage, PO pulls me into back room and very firmly tells me that i will never ever make an announcement again w/o his approval! so basically i got played the fool, when it was THEM who was the fool!

so my situation is changing and i am trying to figure out the best way for me to handle this.

i am an unbaptized publisher married to a dub who was inactive when we met and when we married and during the course of our marriage, and just went back active a year and a half ago.

he is a full believing dub.

i really hope things go ok for you! one note: i dont want to scare you but do NOT underestimate how fast they will turn on you. they are programmed to do that.

do not speak of doubts, to anyone. fade out. though youre not baptized, you'll be viewed as an apostate. sadly you'll already be viewed negatively since you'de be not attending meetingsand you're the "unbelieving" mate, but maybe if youre careful you wont be labeled "apostate"

all our jw friends are headed down there tonight.

feeling lonely and left out but know this is the right choice.

hey everybody thanks for the warm welcome.

that was not only my first post on these boards, but my first ever, anywhere. so please bear with me as i learn how to use the boards and all the etiquette.

anyways, as was suggested i will start a new thread of our experience. we wil def need support thru this, as our families, particularly mine are DIE HARD jw.

and of course, if it gets ugly, we're going to lose all our friends

you are not alone! we are trying to fade/disappear but we went to meeting tonight to make an appearance but i gotta be honest, it felt like a dagger was in heart.
